Does anyone know if the Bosch MAP type 2 sensor # 0 280 100 111 is interchangeable with 0 280 100 112 type 3 sensor?
Mine has a Mercedes logo on the label so is it a non standard part or is it compatible with part #13631360678?

From same source-

you can easily notice, 0 280 100 111 lies about 15% above 0 280 100 112 (original one for MB 450). If you use it in MB 450, you will burn accordingly more fuel. That is why a price difference of 100€ is quickly eaten up by higher fuel consumption in part-load and full-load. If you do the change the other way round, you risk your engine by having too lean a mixture, it can go as far as overheating the engine and kill a piston. You can also see that they give similar values in idle-run

Thanks super Don. I have someone here with an original spec CSL and his MPS is kaput. I have a 0 280 100 111 from my old 3.0 CSi engine and am hoping it will suit his car, notwithstanding the higher fuel consumption on the graph. I seem to remember you saying "don't throw that out, they're expensive" or words to that effect. From the Dr-Djet article Mine is obviously the type 2 sensor. The unit that broke on his car is a 0 280 100 112 type 3.
Question - Will mine work for him? Before I try to make thousands of dollars out of the poor guy.

We rebuild those here. Bosch won’t sell the parts but they are rebuildable.

both 111 and 112 are wrong for csi/csl

Correct part number for coupe is 0 280 100 030

Let me know if you want a rebuilt unit.

Thanks mate. My guy's CSL had the 0 280 100 112 sensor fitted to his car, i.e. the unit that failed.
His mechanic sent a pic of the part.
However, if the correct Bosch 0 280 100 030 is available then that's the one to get, especially for a pukka CSL.
