This isn't truly e9 related but maybe some one can give me some insight.
18 years ago I demo'd a Bavaria for all parts I could.
I took off the calipers to make tow rigs for hang gliders.
It has worked well but the heat from the constant drag while on tow warps the rotor.
Is there a rebuild kit for the caliper? The new owner, and my best friend, wants to rebuild. I told him just to clean outer pistons and purge master.
I seemed to remember in past discussions that they are not a home project. But if so, I know he can do it. He is also a engineer for Lockheed Martin, and VERY mechanically inclined.
Thanks

I just rebuild all my calipers. La Jolla sells a rebuild kit for the front and back. It includes the dust cover (which you can see looking at the calipers), pistons seals and new dust cover rings. As long as your pistons are moving you should be fine. It's when they are rusted in place that it becomes a nightmare - not worth dealing with in my opinion. I think the rebuild kit for all 4 will run you around $150. You might consider painting you calipers while your at it..

...and if you don't feel like doing it yourself, Mesa will rebuild them also.
I had them do mine.
