Is it possible to check how much moisture is in brake fluid in order to determine whether it needs to be changed?

Yes,
but a decent machine to do it costs a fortune!
Cheaper to just change the fluid every 2 years no matter the amount of use, unless you use silicon based fluid which doesn't need changing at all.
Malc.

Hey Malc, hope all is well, admire the resto pics im seeing. I sold the M6 on saturday and already miss it!

I will change the fluid but just wondered. Is it true that if i change to silicone after years of using 'normal' fluid that the seals may not like it?

Hi There!
Restoration some progress, but slow.... Diff neatly wrapped up. Cheapo cling-film, wonderful stuff to keep the muck and rust at bay

Anyway to answer your question
I have heard about seal reaction but I haven't suffered from that in the car I used it in. However I completely rebuilt the braking system and thus there weren't any traces of "normal" brake fluid in there

So the M6 has gone, shame I was tempted but Mrs Malc would have got REALLY upset if I came home with yet another car

You moved house yet?
Malc
