I saw an old post where someone mentioned Volvo master cylinders are interchangeable.

Does anyone know which models / part numbers they are?

Regards,

Rohan

I do not personally know the answer to your question. If I had to hazard a guess, I would expect the model 260 is the likely candidate inasmuch as it had virtually the same hydraulic format (two piston calipers in rear and 4 pistons in the front). http://www.scribd.com/doc/2525018/240-260-brakes-repair-and-maintenance
I think both master cylinders had similar bores (23mm?)

I would wager many other master cylinders made by ATE would fit. But have you considered just going for the master cylinder from later model 6cyl BMW's such as the E12 and E24? They may have different part numbers, but they do fit.

Good luck and please report what does work if you go that route!

Quite possible. I would look at '72 to '75 164e. Hate to say this, but I have often raided my vintage Volvo bin to keep Seina running as I live fairly remote.
