My M/C cracked open at the seam on the bottom side (i believe thats where it is anyway).
i bought a new rebuild M/C. but i am wondering... is that a thing that can happen with these parts or is there something wrong with my cars brake system that split that thing open.
i have never heard about a cast iron part like that just splitting.

Cracking cast iron M/C

Carefully inspect the bracket/ pedal assembly under the dash for the same crack. Misaligned badly for some reason causing the piston to jam badly and crack the master. Cast iron parts can crack if mishandled badly and dropped.:(

maybe it was being dropped in it's past ... i just don't know :(

about the misalignment. i had the M/C centered on the rod and then put on the two 13mm nuts before connecting the brake lines.
i'll have a visual inspection on the rod.
