brakes, doing some work

Thanks again DeQ for your contribution to the forums. Love your stuff.

This is an interesting tool. Is it homebuilt or purchased? I assume it's used to press the pistons back into the calipers so you can fit the new pads? I usually end up using a crowbar.

Copper never-seize on the back side of the pads. correct?

Good work and thanks for the excellent documentation, as usual!

deQ, how about a picture of the tool when its not mounted to the caliper. this is a kewl tool.

well, thanks, the tool that you are referring to is a hazet tool to press the postons back

it is simply a screw that moves two thick rectangular plates, it works very well

the fat on the back of the pads is copper grease, yes

terror nightmares

take a look to this ebay selling advert, these are the brake pads i installed same brand and reference,

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-JURID-5...BMW-1968-1986-FERRARI-1969-1989-/121557156562

what do you think of the raingrooves ? terrible, right ? i can tell it is not the original jurid box, but what is critical, the irregular raingrooves tell a lot of the origin of these parts, my pads raingrooves were absolutely regular

be aware

feedback

as it has been two runs with the coupe with the renewed elements i would like to post feedback

actions were:

renew brake fluid totally
new brake pads
new brake master cylinder

previously my brakes were good but not perfect, a bit like when you press a very thin layer of snow under your feet (i said a bit) the feeling of something similar to that

ok, now the feeling of the brakes is much better, nothing of that suspicious feeling that i mentioned before, brakes are smooth and strong, even considering that i am bedding the pads so not fully peerforming
