yeah, and it may not even hold pressure:
- I see no solder in the seam. looks like it was bead blasted out of there.
- the dent is also in a critical place:

Bead-blasted would explain the odd finish to a "polished brass" unit...I thought it was painted gold, sent the seller a question to that effect, he said no, its just the brass...
I also agree with Erik's pressure comments...
 
I had mine vapor honed (crushed glass + water). No issues with solder.
 
Not that I would pay $300+ for a dented one. You have a few options.

  • split the tank and tap out the dent.
  • Tap out the dent through the opening with a small brass jewelers hammer
  • Solder on a brass/copper nail and pull the dent.
  • Have a dentless repair person fix.
