I did this on an e30 once. I am building an e9 track car but I am not familar with the wiring schematics of the e9. I would like to build a nice start button but I would like to do it the right way. Any assistance with the wiring would be appreciated.

Howdy there,

Plan to bring my CS 'track project' home this weekend with a completed Painless 12 circut street legal racing harness. Much 'pioneering' has been involved but she fires right up and this weekend we deal w/ blinkers, lights and stuff.

I re-wired the original, but after 90% copletion and had the car running, I decided it looked to dodgey (me = novice electrician and would it pass tech?) and decided to try the very neat Painless Sytem. My old wires etc. were brittle and seen better days.

I plan to do a basic write-up and post it here with a parts inventory.
It has a push button start from Kragen and it fits nicely in the original location...;-)

Slightly off topic. I just installed a 14 fuse painless harness in my 73 Bronco restoration. I am very impressed by the quality of the harness. The wire are stamped with thier number and function, and the wire/insulation and connectors are very high quality.

I also used Painless Powerbraid. This is a great woven covering that can be easily slipped over the wire bundles. COmes in several sizes. Makes for a very very professional instrallation.
