Bumper question

peter - coupeking- has a couple on his site that he's converted, you may want to ask him directly. keep in mind that its not a straightforward bolt-in.
Nice bumpers go anywhere from $250-500 each with hardware, plus any changes to the sheet metal. I haven't done the swap myself, but hopefully others on the forum chime in with their experiences. On 2002's, the hole where the brackets come through the sheet metal need to be modified (metal added) to reduce the size of the hole. Not sure on coupes.

I've been pricing these and the going rate is about US$1k for each, for either NOS or freshly re-chromed. That's just for the parts. The labor cost for the conversion work is also high.

I've never worked with U.S. spec bumpers before but was curious if the paint underneath the rubber would be showing less faded or scuffed with the smaller bumpers?

Try searching "big bumpers".Posting by "TILLA" on June 29,2007 has good pictures.Rear bumpers are fairly easy,fronts require more work.Both ends require filling/covering of no longer used small bolt holes.If you are not fussy rubber button plugs will work otherwise patching and repainting which = $.
