hi, does anyone have any pics of an e9 without the rear bumper ? I am thinking of going totally bumperless, but cannot work out whether good or bad and how to get the rear numberplate light fixed to the car ??

any comments ?

I think the bumper helps break up the large flat area of the rear panel, looks strange without it and NO protection from others.

Here's a pic of my car taken last night - no rear bumper.

Stealth bumper

Another option is to switch to a fibreglass bumper and paint it the same colour a your car. Hides all of the holes and provides some continuity with the body but blends the shape into the colour - if that makes sense.

To go bumperless like rb1971 you'll need to install an M5 motor and lots of other nasty go fast bits to pull it off. And the orange paint.

Oooopppps, my bad. What is that thing beside your coupe? It's HUGE.

Brand new 535xi (although now BMW calls it 535i x-drive - I have refused these bizarre new naming conventions, even putting aside that fact that the car really should be a 530txi or 530xti). Decided waiting for BMW to pull the trigger on the M550dx in the US was a fool's errand.

The new 5 is as big or bigger than an E38 7 to my eyes.

I drove the new 5 series (528i) and thought it was very nice. The design falls apart on the lower front fascia for such an expensive car, seems too vanilla. With the M Sport package, the 5 series looks really nice.

I have been running bumperless for some time now. Like the look alot. easy to wash too!
here's a couple pics

and another with a couple bare arse coupers hanging out with some more respectable bros. ;-)
