Hi guys
I am just wondering if anyone has had any issues buying on eBay Kleinanzeigen.
I spotted some parts for €320 and I am interested in buying , I just don’t want to get my fingers burned.
What is the safest way to pay ?
I was thinking of using PayPal.
Thanks again.

I've bought several items there, not been burnt so far but it's always a gamble with private sales. You'll have to hope the seller is legit.
Paypal is the probably the best way to pay, but don't use the "pay to friends and family" option, because then paypal wont offer any kind of help if things go bad.

Okay
Thanks, yes I will use PayPal and keep my fingers crossed :)

I've had mixed results. Parts are most often more 'used' then you hoped for. I use Paypal often, but also direct money transfer in Europe also is quick & easy with IBAN.
my advise is to ask for pictures of the 'corners' that you are interested in. If you do not get to see what you want to see, then move on.

I buy parts on there all the time. There are plenty of great deals as well as plenty of over priced things. No different than any other used parts market place.
Just ask the right questions and check pictures closely. Google translate usually is enough to get the info you need. Ive never had an issue paying upfront, but as always it’s a risk. Most people take PayPal if you want the extra security (at extra cost of course). However probably the seller is more likely to think you are the scammer, with a foreign contact info and poor German haha

Drawback of Paypal I have found for us in the US is their exchange rate is a little off such that we pay a bit more. Not an issue for you.
Sellers seem to be a bit more realistic on prices but still a bell shaped curve, just shifted a bit to the right c/w U.S.

The problem we are starting to have here in Ireland is that because of brexit some suppliers don’t want to ship to Ireland now and even if they do they are charging a lot more for shipping now.
I bought a litre of Hydrate 80 rust converter paint over the weekend online from the uk and shipping is now 12 pounds Sterling .before Brexit happened in January the same parcel would have been 3 pounds Sterling.
I know it might not seem like much , but it all adds up :(
A lot of the classic car scene here in Ireland relies on the Uk for supplies, so Brexit is definitely not helping .
Some uk sellers will now no longer sell to Ireland as they are caught up in a lot of customs paperwork for exporting to Europe if they do decide to sell to us .

I my last 3 buys with ebay Kleinanzeigen 2 of them were scam. Hidden so that it was visible later at home.
So I will do only with paypal /without friend option/ in future. No more cash or so.
