how important is it to get fixed or adjustable plates
i want them but dont know the angle thats necessary or
a adj. one
if i get the fixed, whats the best setup angle?

what im asking is what is the best angle ?
and are adjustable overkill
i haave no idea what spec i even want
as ive never done this before.

Alan,

Since your car is highly modified I would definitely go with adjustable camber plates. Just make sure they don't interfere with your strut bar. Check out ground control.

The only advantage that fixed have is a factory look (and perhaps cost). With an S38 under the hood, I think adjustable plates will be very fitting.

Alan, get it aligned for a starting point. You want to be slightly negative, IMO no more than 0.25-0.5 degrees. Others may have different opinions.

If you are going to track your car and want to optimize performance, I'd get the adjustable plates.
My track car doesn't have this sort of fancy adjustment, but I can clearly see where it would come in handy based on tire temps. Even though I run narrow vintage tires, I have seen 15-20 deg F between inner, center, outer tread. Changing tire pressure only helps a little bit, and ultimately I end up having to drive differently (slower on certain turns) so I don't cook a particular tire on longer sessions. On real race cars, this would be dialed out, in part, with camber adjustments.

yea im trying to find the best privcing
although it looks rather slim for the options
ground control seems to be the best
big bucks
im debating on whether to get there springs also
which i most likely would do

Those eBay plates look to be adjustable for camber only, not caster. GC plates are adjustable for both.

When I bought my GC plates years ago they required use of a coil over style spring....I cannot use a stock or stock type lowering spring.

Who makes plates that work with stock diameter springs?

Now they look like good hefty and adjustable fronts struts. Are they for the E9? If so, do you have a reference number for them?

You'll have to email them, they don't offer them officially.
This was the answer I got from them:

Yes we can manufacture a Gaz Gold kit for the BMW E9 we will need some donor front struts sent in for the new kit as we re-use the cast stub axles for the new front dampers.
The kit comes complete with springs and height adjusters for the rear and costs £850 + carriage & VAT, we can supply top mounts as well if requested these are an additional £100 per pair + VAT.
Should you wish to place an order I will need your full details for invoicing, once ordered and paid for your new kit will take 3-4 weeks to manufacture.
