I have the paper template for a part to weld onto the metal expansion tank.
I do not have the tools to make it.
Any volunteers?

Hi Stan,

Sorry that this one is plaguing you. I can make the part. No template needed either!

jarhead,

Do you have the whole tank for Stan or the little bracket? Either way, very kind of you!

It is the lower support
I thought I could bring it to a local welder

Hi Stan,

You can't weld steel to brass. It must be brazed. That isn't necessarily a skill that all fabrication shops leverage. Fortunately radiator shops braze and solder all the time. It is a radiator shop that can test and seal your coolant tank. Ask the shop what they would charge to braze on the bracket.

Now given that the coolant tank has two brackets and you can't see the lower bracket when installed, you might just want to use a few dabs of JB Weld to secure the bracket. Nobody will ever see it and it should be equally as strong. If you do, I would file off the old solder from the area first.
