Can someone share Metric Mechanic engine experience?

I'm in the info gathering phase for an upgrade to the stock M30 dual carb engine in my '73. I'm evaluating everything, except do-it-yourself, due to my limited mechanical skills and available time. The best option for power and aesthetics seems to be a motronic brain with L-jet fuel injected B35 using a 88/89 635 CSi long block. A used G265 5 speed and shortened driveshaft will go along with this.

Metric Mechanic offers a 3700 Sport engine, with a claimed 270 hp and highly modified and rebuilt internals. More money involved here but basically a new engine you shouldn't have to worry about ever with considerably more than what a stock B35 puts out. Perhaps more power than I need, even.

So, question is this? Anyone have a MM motor underhood their E9? If so, can you share experience on this forum or send me a PM? The fact that they are several states over from me is a concern. But, they've been around a long time.

Carl Nelson is the obvious choice in many respects, and I've talked with him a few times, but my budget won't support that now.

Thank in advance.

Why not go with a Euro 3.5 engine?

Fresh ported and polished 10:1 compression engine will run you less than 5k installed.
240 hp and very reliable. That way you get Motronic fuel and timing with the 011 ecu.
If you want more hp- consider the m106 engine. Still about 5k and good for 300 hp and 400 pounds of torque. Send me a PM if you want details.

Not getting my PM?

Hi SFdon, I'm not sure that my two PMs to you have gone through...but I'm trying to follow up on your advice about the Euro b35 and installation ideas you have. Can you send me a PM? Wayne

Done- you have my ph. # now.

Just finished a 10:1 euro spec engine last week and bought a great m90 engine yesterday.
Lots of options out there......
