Being new to the E9 world, are there any car clubs or groups that add value to E9 ownership? This board has been great.
Many thanks

BMW CCA makes sense to join. Local chapters can help you out.

??? you need to add value to "THE VALUE" ?

hey, do you really own an e9 ?

dQ, value is an euphemism for beers.
All our paint imperfections seem to disappear when viewed at dusk from the bar counter over beers.

"thehackmechanic" on this board writes a superb and funny monthly column in the BMWcca magazine. Also, the techtalk editor in said magazine will answer your email questions about any and all BmWs. Good value for fifty bucks a year

geeez is it up to fifty clams/year now?
who do these guys think they are?

That said, I was in the local chapter maybe 20 years. Been the president, board, treasurer, newsletter editor. I saw the change from sport-minded drivers of unusual cars, to those with more money than taste. I once owned a bimmer less than 10 years old, but that was years ago and the closest I got. And I've had a couple dozen. Nowadays the '73 3.0CS and (two) '85 K100RS do it for me.

Their photography is nice, but I felt the content was a little lacking. When Carla Harmon, then in the employ of BMW NA, came onboard, CCA really lost the critical edge it had previously and there was too much fawning. Every model has one or more weak points, but you don't hear of them much any more. There was little if any comparison to other cars available, just BMW, BMW, BMW, and we all realize the world is larger than that, especially now.

I just have to figure out how to still get that 15% CCA member parts discount when I go in for a new windshield.
