There were 200 cars, trucks, and motorcycles in 15 different classes at a Church car show with Dennis Gage from "My Classic Car" show as Master of Ceremonies. He walked around meeting the folks, taking pics with them and their rides. He knew about Turkis as a BMW color and said he liked the tan interior. The 1st place in the foreign car class went to a 1963 Porsche 356B that was really nice with a Signal Red paint/gray interior. The owner bought the car with a tall stack of papers detailing everything done to the car. The Best of Show was a fully custom silver 1960 Corvette that was indeed exquisite. He drives the car,but not too far for fear of road debris and stone chips on a perfect paint.
When I arrived, they told me to park next to the Toyota. I had seen this car at another show I attended. It is a 1970 2000GT worth about a million $$. The car came from El Salvador. There are just a handful of these in the States and the owner and his brothers own 13 of them. Their family owns the Toyota & Datsun/Nissan dealers in Florida. Quite a story.

Looks like a nice show, Drew. The Toyota 2000 GT is kind of an unknown in the classic/collector car world, but such a cool car - and a real milestone in Toyota's history. The first time I saw one in person I was floored by how tiny they are - doesn't really appear that way in pics. Thanks for posting!

Jim--You are correct. The first time I saw it was about a month ago at a show. The owner told me the story of how his family got the cars and he let me sit in the driver's seat. It was really more like laying in the seat. It has a tubular chassis and an all-aluminum body. The BMW CS next to it looked really tall and huge in comparison. I asked him if he has taken the car on any long trips. I'm pretty sure his longest trip was about 100 miles. He does drive it regularly through his upscale public local neighborhood.----Drew
