I have my ritual.

1) Use an Ortho Dial-a-Sprayer with Griots cleaner. Set the sprayer on "Off" to hose down, then set dilution on 2 TBS/gallon and spray the entire car. Wash/rinse.

2) CLAAAY BAAA in Boston, Clay Bar to the rest of the world.

3) +/- Compound, usually every 2-3 years. Been using Meguiars "Ultimate".

4) Sonax Polymer Net Shield.

5) Wax of choice.

6) Finish up with 400mg of Motrin.

Too much, too little, just right ???

fascinating, i have not understood a single word, oh yes, wax ...

DQ here is my decoding:

1) Ortho Dial-a-Sprayer - Gadget my dentist uses for dental cleaning.

2) Clay Bar - Beer joint where the pitchers are made out of clay.

3) +/- Compound - Per Albert Einstein Compound Interest is the strongest force in the universe.

4) Sonax - Re-uptake inhibitor, aka anti-depressant

5) Wax of choice - I recommend Madame Tussauds in London, very realistic

6) Finish up with 400mg of Motrin - Why use pain medicine when sports coaches tell us that pain builds character...

Now confirmed that those from Ca, in addition to those from Spain need the "Star Trek" universal translator.

deQ, since your cars show no signs of ever leaving their laminar flow, HEPA filtered, temperature controlled dwelling, the question about cleaning is probably irrelevant anyway.

Ritual Cleaning

I start in the garage since I can heat it if need be...
1. Vacuum the seats and carpets.
2. Lexol leather cleaner on all seats and door cards
3. Lexol leather conditioner on seats
4. Clean all windows inside and out.
I usually clay bar and wax before putting the car cover on for the winter
5. Clean tires and wheels if needed (I just waxed the clean wheels)
6. Tire treatment, gonna try Tufshine as it is a natural look
7. RainX the windows.

Any recommendations for the front grill? Plain wax?

I drive mine a lot so just I wipe down the exterior before and after I drive it with Zaino Z-6. Every couple of weeks I Leatherique the seats and Vinylex the doors, parcel shelf, under hood stuff, and dash.

Once every year or two I go to the clay bar (no that's not a crazy place on Bourbon Street) and use the othe Zaino wax etc.

I preach the wonders of Tufshine for the tires to any who will listen.

Carnuba wax the wood interior once a year.

Gumiflege the rubber once or twice a year.

Meguiars All Wheel cleaner when necessary.

Drive accordingly.

My car gets driven a lot and collects and kills bugs at a high rate of speed.

1 Vacuum interior
2 Clean leather with Zymol
3 Condition leather with Zymol
4 Condition dash with Zymol Vinyl
5 Condition rubber with Zymol Seal
6 Clean all glass with Napa Foaming Glass Cleaner or Rain-X Glass Cleaner
7 Wash car with Griot's Speed shine, unless really dirty, then use water sparingly.
8 Wax with Zymol Creame
9 Apply Rain-X to airdam, grills and nose. Makes bug cleaning easier
10 Polish chrome with Noxon Metal Polish.

Drive great distances, repeat steps 6-10.

Stan, for the front grills, once the black plastic is completely clean, a couple light coats of a pure carbuna wax really makes the black look nice, especially around the headlights. One Grand, pure carbuna with no additives, works great. Polish the headlight lens with it too.

good one, :-D, but i must correct, i seldom keep my can in laminar flow, it feels quite turbulent by the way

i am not an expert in these products, this is what i do:

after driving sheer pleasure and so on, i collect dust from body and glasses with a just wet synthetic cleaning cloth with a dab of car shampoo by autoglym in the water, i use two cloths one for body paint and other for undercarriage (dirtier áreas)
after that i apply a cleaning spray by chemical brothers over the paint and remove it with a soft cloth
i clean glasses with unespecific glass cleaner product
rubbers, vynil and so on with chemical bros. products
for leather i use autoglym
and once every three or four months chemical bros wax is sprayed over the body after removing the dust with the wet cloth method
chrome mirrors and other chromed bits with autosol paste, finishing with a paper towel wet with protective oil
door, hood, and bonnet, sealing rubbers with gummipflege
engine compartment just like exterior body
engine cleaned usign a paper towel with protective oil
hoses and engine rubbers a cloth with a dilution of glycerine and wáter
pressure air to remove dust and bugs from hidden cavities all around
wheels and tyres are cleaned with wáter and soap once every four months while they are out from the car
tyre Wells inside the fenders once a year fluid film is applied
vaccuum the carpets,...
mechanisms and moving parts are cleaned with a paper towel wet in MoS2 oil spray
...i think that is all

Lord, now I feel my children are out in public with tattered clothes.

deQ :tyre Wells inside the fenders once a year fluid film is applied. Can you ellaborate on this "fluid film"?

This stuff is perfect for the e3 hood and rockers and the nooks and crannies of my e24's. I'm sold.
