If I do not drive my 1973 CS within 1-2 weeks, I then have trouble starting it. Just get the red battery light but will not start. I have had battery changed as well as alternator.
Any advice on what the problem may be?

Usually, this means a drain on the battery through the voltage regulator on the fender. You're warning light may stay on or be very dim.

If you have a electrical meter you can measure the loss at the battery. Then disconnect the voltage regulator to see if in fact that component is the problem.

If not, taking out a fuse one at a time while measuring is another way for determining a loss to narrow it down to a circuit and device.

Also, does not the clock on those old ones use like .2 -.3A? I remember being told that once and that later clocks were better. Or is that false?

I installed a master powerswitch in mine for when I leave it a while, only thing that bypasses it is the alarm.

And remember to check the light in the glove compartment, it is tricky but if you are real quick you might catch it
