I have to replace the carpet in my car and have found the cost of replacement
'Original German square weave carpet' beyond my budget, and not particularly attractive anyway. My car is a fair way from original anyway and think I may buy a carpet set from Coverdale in the Uk as I have had some samples sent and I like the look of the plush cut pile, anyone out there that has used this company's carpet, and any potential problems?

Cheers. John

Hi John, maybe have a look at KHM Carpets ( Germany ) . They are good quality and prices start @ 286 euros ( which includes 19% sales tax that should be deducted ) . Can't recall shipping costs but they do RHD . Cheers, Simon

Thanks Simon,

Looks good , I'll see if they can send me some samples and confirm Rhd.
Have you used them?

Cheers. John

No, I haven't used them yet as the carpet is some way off , however, the samples I got were very good I thought . May I suggest that you get a few different samples in your preferred colour range and weave ( even the more expensive for comparison ). Cheers, Simon

I have a full set for RHD that I won't be using. The quality is not good enough for me but if you are on a budget they may be okay for you. Black loop pile rather than the mottled look of the originals.

Thanks for the offer Gazza, but I'm going with a Tan/ wheat colour after lots of thought. My Fjord car is far from standard and I really like the look of the car that Paul Cain did, although I suspect his will always be a far superior 'motor'.

Thanks again for the offer.

Cheers

John

No worries. Yes Paul's car is a stand out. If ever you are in L.A. look him up as I'm sure he would let you see his cars.
Paul is very knowledgeable as an engineer and extremely helpful as just a good guy. I bought an S38 from him to go into my also far from standard coupe and he has advised me on the conversion from steering box to rack and pinion. Check out his twin turbo 2002 with a transaxle and Porsche R & P steering, incredible.

John, Coverdale's carpets are excellent, I have a set in my car and they look and feel like the quality purchase they are, no probs on fitting. I recommend lashings of sound proofing.
