Center Bearing replacement

I'm at the last stage of removing the driveshaft to replace the center bearing.
The Blue book states to remove the driveshaft with the guibo attached.
Is there a reason for that? Could I not simply disconnect the drive shaft at the guibo leaving it attached to the tranny? It's an automatic if that makes a difference.

Thanks

So it's about money.
Those are one time use nuts.
Why throw them away?

Sorry - just yucking it up.
I think most people find it easier to have the guibo on the driveshaft so that you have a handle and leverage for compressing the last 3 bolts in. I use a pry bar.
Simply put the guibo is going to be expanded and the easiest 3 guibo holes to pry into position to insert the bolts are the ones closest to the rear of the tranny where there is there is more tranny metal to pry against.
Does that help?

I removed the 3 bolts holding the giubo to the drive shaft. Can't bend the drive shaft downward enough to pull it out. Will now have to take out the 3 bolts holding the giubo to the trans. and see what happens.
