Chain tensioner pin removal

I got the chain guide pins off no prob with a 10mm socket, but how does the tensioner one come off???

It’s going to the machinist to be cleaned and gone through. Do you think they won’t need this off? They said they want it stripped. I suppose I could ask them when I bring it if there’s no easy way to get it off.

Interesting. I understand there is a balance of three positions at various machine shops:
- remove everything so we have nothing but the iron block (or aluminum head)
- remove nothing so we can take it apart as part of our process
- remove most things, but not everything

It sounds like this falls in the last category which is hard to define. I would think it also sets up a small possibility for damage to protruding/projecting parts. Probably minimal.
 
Leave that one. I’d only worry about it if it is messed up in the process. They’re still available new and not too expensive. I had to replace the one on Bert’s M90 because the E-clip groove was damaged. You’ll ruin it removing it.
