owned since 2011, has a 3.0L engine - 5 speed, 16" alpina (style?), 4 wheel disks (Wilwood) ... looks reasonable. spent its known life in New Mexico, Orange Co + San Francisco

Yeah, nice driver. Not a big deal but I like. the big aftermaket disc brakes and calipers especially replacing the drums on the rear. Curious to see what this goes for.

Now that looks like a nice little driver.

Later seats. Definitely more than a few cosmetic things. But it seems really nice.
no, seats are correct. only early 2800cs had the bottom lever. this is a late 1970 built car (1971 model) ... the bottom lever disappeared early in 1970. my guess is this car lands between 50 and 55k and would be a very good buy at that price. now if this car had a red leather interior ... i would have to say 60k ... not that there is anything wrong with chamonix / blue ... its just that its currently vinyl.

Looks like a pretty honest car. Likely lived all it's life in California and was garaged and not driven much in the weather. The engine and gearbox are nice upgrades.

I feel like the BAT market has been a bit soft or maybe erratic on e9s particularly modified and 2800s recently. Granted this one has a little more going for than the past couple.

Thanks Scott… sheesh I learn something every time I put my foot in my mouth… er post something I thought I knew ;)
naah ... no foot in the mouth, when we quit learning something (every day) about what we like, then its time to find something new to like.

the market is soft on a lot of cars these days. air cooled 911s might be one of the exceptions - maybe. as i posted in the thread on Hemmings values of the e9 ... the majority of e9's have lost 20% over the last year or two. keep in mind, over the last 15 years, 2800cs have been undervalued vs. the 3.0 cs. i look at it a little differently - they are more affordable to buy in the same condition. if you get the car really right, with all the correct upgrades ... i think they are worth just as much. maybe i just won't pay the difference, i don't know ... but they are the same car when you swap all of the brakes. i like the way the 2.8L revs compared to the USA 3.0L ... higher compression.
