..Golf, well you get the point. I don't know of any other car group that identifies their car with such exotic names as we do. When I first heard those names...I thought it refered to subtype of e9s. When I tell people I have a Chamonix BMW 3.0 CSI..they ask "what color is it".
Was this always the case or is it something new? Your thoughts on the subject will make an interesting thread...I think.

I thought at least half of the colors were named after European cities and denoted a characteristic of those cities.
Chamonix valley, France, a famous ski area, hence snow, hence white
Malaga, Spain, Known for the redish soil in the area
Verona, Italy, well what can I say, red is just Italian..
Baikal Blue, is for Lake Baikal in Russia, hence blue
 
Colorado Orange, Florida (that light mint green), etc.

Btw, my 2002 is Chamonix. :D
