Doing a MT and engine oil change and just had a couple of quick questions:

Just bought 2 quarts of Redline MTL 75w80 (as this seems to be the most highly recommended by e9 forum users). Re the gearbox plugs, do I need to buy new sealing rings? Or do the existing gearbox plugs just go back in and seal up fine?

Re changing the engine oil, was thinking to buy a Mann Filter insert (H1038). However they don't sell the sealing ring together with the filter. So do I need to replace the sealing ring each time I change the filter insert (E9 owners manual just says "reassemble with sealing ring in good condition" doesn't say replace each time?)
If I do need an oil filter sealing ring, what's the part number? Also part number for the oil pan seal? As I will try to get these from BMW parts locally.

Many thanks.

gearbox plugs, high one located in lateral needs a replacement alu washer
bottom one does not need it, it is conical

the mann filter ended in X does have the sealing ring included

Many thanks for the info!

Have found the H1038X filter with ring package now.

Regarding the E9 alu washer for the gearbox plug in lateral position, and also engine oil E9 sump washer, are these items available from BMW or do I just use generic aftermarket sealing washers?

Having checked with BMW they said the E9 sump and gearbox sealing washers are NLA, they just said find some that are approximately the right size in copper. Does that sound okay?

No, you don't need BMW ones but they should be aluminum washers. I just got a 100 from Belmetric, you must have something like that in your neck of the woods. They are good for the oil pan plug, tensioner plug, trans plugs and the diff plugs I find that you have to tighten down the plugs to tight to stop any leaks with a copper one

I see a red GTV I have a 69 Spider Verde Green.
