I went to see the Verona coupe and instead saw this Baikal one that just came in. Overall it was solid. It test drove fine, probably needs suspension and brake work. As for the body goes, there seems to be some surface rust, does it look minimal, or is there more hiding underneath? Ireally wanted to take the rocker panel off. This car also looks familiar, does anybody recognize it? I spent quite some time with the car, and Peter's video on inspecting areas of rust was very helpful.

I also checked out the Verona coupe that they had, and spotted a rust spot, do you guys think that is minor? It was a great looking car, it looked better than the photos online.

You guys have been very helpful and I'm getting more familiar with the coupes. I don't think I am buying anything from a dealer, but if i had the money I would buy the burgundy one that Coupe King restored. According to a source Chequred Flag payed $50K.

That $48k Verona car looks like it had a quick resale red paint job. I.e. perfume pig.

Engine compartment old and needs redone, and looks like the fenders will need to be removed ($$$) to address the rust that's breaking through the inner fenders.

How much was the blue one going for? Looks like from the trunk lid holes, it was an automatic? That one actually looks more solid.

So Checkered Past...FLag paid $50k for this: http://www.chequeredflag.com/1974-BMW-30CS/Used-Car/MarinaDelRey-CA/6702273/Details.aspx and wants to flip it for $70k? Lord.

The lift shots on the Verona look bad too. It seems like they just buffed the paint job. I noticed some signs of the paint starting to crack too. The blue one in my opinion is overpriced at $30k. If it were $20k I would've bought it. According to the vin on the blue one it was originally an automatic.

I've seen the Malaga coupe. As I recall Jeff Tighe converted the bumpers and sold/traded it to CK maybe three years ago. They finished it and did a very nice job, it was very solid as I recall. Sold to a gent who kept it in Palm Springs and also lived in Canada, price was around $60K or perhaps more, he didn't keep it very long, too bad. It needed only minor things to reflect originality.

I think there were 4 or 5 tomatoes at the shop when that car came in. And Tighe had done a nice job on it. Solid car or Peter/Erik wouldn't have touched it. Working on so many tomatoes at once I don't remember specifics but between Jeff and CK it has good provenance.
