I have the opportunity to get a set of vintage wheels that have the Chevy 5x4.75" bolt pattern which from what I understand translates to 5x120.65mm Will the .65mm matter or do wheels have a loose enough tolerance that it would not matter? I have seen Chevy guys with BMW wheels before. I will be buying hub centric rings for sure. Anyone have first hand experience with this?

Check the centerbore...it may be too small, in which case rings won't help. I tried Trans Am GTA wheels and found the centerbore was too small to fit the E9.

Here's what those look like on a BMW.

What rims are you looking at?

These are the wheels I am looking at. Those Trans Am wheels look amazing on BMW's. I'm quite surprised.

They will fit fine, however the centerbore is likely to small. You will need to get this machined to the proper size by a machinist or wheel shop equipped to to this.

I run wheels originally built for a corvette. I needed to run spacers as well, as the wheels were et38, where we want around a 0 for this car.

Just my best guess but I’d say those wheels in your photo have too much offset to use on the front likely resulting in bump steer and tires rubbing on the fenders, the front track on our coupes is already a bit too wide. I think people can get away with Chevy wheels on a later BMW because they use bolts instead of studs, the bolts end up leaning over a bit which the studs can’t do. All this is just speculation on my part, I’ve never actually tried it and wouldn’t bother because of safety reasons. To be honest I wish they did swap, I’d love to see what a set of staggered & polished Halibrands would look like on a coupe . ~ John Buchtenkirch

I used to run 14 inch chevy 5 bolt steel stock car rims on my Bavaria. Seemed to work fine and I didn't have any vibrations. Still have them but they are pretty ugly now .
