Chrome exhaust tip extender? Where to buy?

As some of you know of my troubles with exhaust flowing back into the trunk of my Bavaria, I wondered where one procures one of those chrome exhaust tip entender pieces? And how do they fit on? Figured any little extension mught help. I think my problem is two fold, a bad trunk gasket and totally blown 20+ year old speakers cut in the rear package tray that let the smell into the cabin. Thanks to all those who helped me diagnose this issue, now onto the chrome extender!

I´m sorry, I can´t help with your inquiry (except that I´m sceptical a tip extension will help with your problem...)

BUT calling in again to congratulate your on the progress your bav is making. Looking really smart by now. Please share more pics when all the trim is in place...

Exhaust Tip

Hi Neal,

I bought my exhaust tip from Maximillian BMW parts, 800-950-2002.

Unfortunately for me, the shop that installed my stock exhaust system bent the tip and it has wrench marks on it. Which of course bugs me everytime I see it, so I'll need a new one too. Moral of the story: Do it yourself and be careful.

The one on Ebay has a diameter of 55 mm whereas the E9 has a 60 mm tailpipe (around the spare wheel well).
There may be 55 mm systems too. Both dimensions are listed in the White book. My cars have 60mm.

I just got mine at the local auto parts store. It was a shade too large diameter, not much, I just ran a screw in radially and it has been on for ten years or something like that.
