Plating versus new chrome spray paints...anyone with any experience of the new paints ??

Thinking of all the exterior trim...

please don't do that to this car
no way, the paint wont lay flat and will chip forever
your better off sanding it yourself and polishing

I tried a few different types of "chrome" spray paint for the c-pillar trim on our e3 2800, none of them came out looking anything like chrome.

Even if "chrome" spray paint looked OK day #1, I can't imagine it would hold up to prolonged exposure to sunlight. If you want a durable, metallic look, you have to spring for plating.
