Has anyone had any experience with clear ceramic coating (Speedway, Santa Ana, CA) of polished aluminum wheel lips? Does it lessen the shine? Enhance the shine? Last? Need refreshing? Maintain easily? Is it worth the cost? Should I do it?
TIA...BOB

Hi Bob,

Dan at speedway has done quite a bit of work for me including ceramic coating a set of BBS Style 5's as well as the belt line trim for my coupe. His work is excellent. The ceramic coating does not lessen the shine and protects from water spots. I would use this process again.

Bob,

For polished wheel lips I would just use polish occasionally and then wax, I did that when I had 15" basket weaves. But yes, Speedway does great work, he could do that for you, it lasts, only removed with acetone I think, he has clear and satin I think, go for a visit. Dan is a great guy.

I like the idea of a more durable finish than bare polished aluminum!

Did you have to disassemble or did they take care of the whole job for you?

I sent the whole set of wheels to Speedway and they took care of the whole job for me. It would be far less expensive to send the barrels instead of sending the whole wheel.
