I have no experience with RHD . But have been in similar position before. Try soaking a micro fiber cloth with penetrating oil. Hold the soaked cloth in such a way that you can squeeze the penetrating oil over the nuts you want to open.
Let it sit for a while and come back in couple of hours and use a new micro fiber cloth and wrap it over the nuts now you will have a better grip on the nut (believe it or nut) you will have much more leverage . If that didn’t work another technique is try to tighten it a bit . If it moves in that direction then you are closer to a result. You can go back and forth tightening and loosening until it frees up.
Best wishes from Edmond Oklahoma USA.
By the way My mother in law just landed in Melbourne to visit her brother!!!!

That's not a bad idea. Will give that a go.
Was 20 deg C in Melbourne today, pretty nice :)
Only a 50 min flight to Tas, they wont want to miss it..

Again i don’t know RHD E9 much . But I can’t imagine how removing the steering wheel or the seats can help !
Another technique is to use loose leather gloves! After penetrating oil with micro fiber ,, loop the section of a glove (perhaps one of the finger) wraps around the nut and squeeze the end tips and try to open it.
I never attack problems like this when I am frustrated. After Gym, or after a nice glass of wine, when you are relaxed is the best time to attack the challenge.
By the way, I have Dismanteled two rusty ,71 E9 and another German car , 1970 280sl with similar holder nuts ....

Take the dash pad off, remove the screen air vent and go in through the speaker hole. That's how I did mine wes.

If you lived a little closer I'd demonstrate my grip strength via placing my hands around your throat :)

There is no way those nuts are going to be moved via coming up from below on my car - suspect this in an issue for RHD's generally.
I've now pulled the centre consul looking for the mounting screws so I can pull the cowl of the top of the gauge cluster to try and get in that way.
They also don't appear to be in the same positions as for a LHD. Starting to think half the bloody dash is going to have to come out :(
From memory the screen needs to come out fr this to occur?
No wes , the screen does NOT have to come out to remove the dash, it genuinely is an easy job.
Pm me if you need a bit of info mate on RHD, I've just done mine and it was quiet easy mate.
