Are there any suppliers out there selling replacement clutch master cylinders for our E9's. I put a rebuild kit in my 1972 CS a while back and it is leaking again.
White post restoration specializes in rebuilding/re-lining hydraulic components: http://www.whitepost.com/. They did an outstanding job on my calipers. Turn-around is also very fast.
I don't think you can get a new one. For the 5-speed conversion I got a master cylinder that is compatible but a bit shorter. I can check which model it was from. The clutch rod was extended to compensate for that, I recall.
Here is a simple question for Bmw. Why haven't this very common wear and tear replacement part not been available for years? It sould not take too much effort from either Bmw Mobiletradition or their parts manufacture such as ATE to have these e9 clutch master cylinders reproduced.
If I'm not mistaken, his clutch MC is the later style design with the horizontal mounting bolts. These were for the late, late CS coupes (74 onwards?) and the succeeding 630/633 CSi's.
Saw it on Ebay today. I bought one from them for my 74 a few months ago. Didn't put it in yet but it looks right. Hopefully the link works if not, then do a search for BMW clutch master cylinder
Good luck
