I got the 530I clutch master and hose from Mesa Performance today. When installed the fill tube going to the reservoir will actually point to the 1:30 position. I don’t claim to be a mechanic but it would seem to me unless that fill hose is at the 12:00 position there’s going to be air trapped in the top of the bore which will cause a soft / spongy feeling clutch pedal ? I was initially considering rebuilding my current clutch master but I was unable to find a rebuilding kit, does anyone know where they are still available ? THANKS ~ John Buchtenkirch

Don't worry- it's no problem.
Bleed the slave well and properly and you may have to pump the pedal the 1st few times you use your clutch.
After that- you are done.

Feeling pretty stupid again. Where I first looked (eBay of course) has the kits all along, it was just that my usual coupe searches didn’t work because they were searching for the wrong key words. After fruitless Google searches I searched eBay again with this -- BMW +”clutch master” +kit -- and bingo, this came right up http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-2500-Bavaria-3-0S-Clutch-Master-Cylinder-Repair-Kit-/350320124210?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5190b4e132 ~ John Buchtenkirch
