clutch pedal conversion question

I am converting a auto pedal setup to a clutch pedal setup and the clutch pedal has a rt angle bracket on it that I believe is where the spring assembly connects with a pivot bolt. I have the pivot bolt/spring assembly but cannot understand how it connects or its placement. The right angle bracket part of the clutch pedal hits the top of the steering column black metal support. There seems to be a hole cut out but it is in the wrong spot and the clutch pedal hits metal without being able to move towards the floor. Do I need a different steering column support with a different hole cut out? Can someone send me a pic of the spring installed so I can visualize how it goes together. Thanks

strange spring

I too had that question and that problem... As it was explained to me that set-up is to make the clutch easier on the leg if you are stuck in traffic. I tried a number of ways to incorporate it and could not figure it out. I left it off and used the regular spring set-up as shown in the link below and the clutch works fine. I would leave it off unless a more knowledgeable member disagrees, and if so please post some detailed pictures :-).
