Cold start fuel leak

Not sure if anyone can help. I have a UK 3.0CSi, right hand drive manual, 1973. After the car has been standing and has gone cold, maybe 3 or 4 days without use, when I start up the engine I get a significant fuel leak dripping down from somewhere on the top part of the engine, near the injectors I suppose, which drips down the engine block etc. When the car has warmed up and the engine is hot, it stops completely. I have tried to poke around the various pipes and tubes and they all look secure. This only happens when I start the car from cold. Any ideas, many thanks, Neil

Yes is agree as this is the only fuel item going on to off from cold to hot. Also check connections on pressure regulator. Fuel hose becomes more supple when warm and could seal better than cold meaning any of the connections could do it too.

Start it and have a good look with a flashlight while not smoking!

Where in UK are you?

Many thanks for your answers, I will investigate the cold start injector if that might be the issue. Everything else seems OK, apart from trying to get a new rear passenger side light lense as mine has a slight crack in the red bit, but the prices seem astronomical, whenever they come up!
Am in Bournemouth by the way. Thanks again.

an alternative guess,

you said drip when cold, nothing when warm, is there a slight possibility of a continous leak that dissapears when the engine is hot enough to evaporate the fuel ?

yeah, probably it will be the mentioned cold start injector, but...

Yeah, I had this problem on mine. The short line going between the fuel pressure regulator and the fuel rail would leak onto the intake, but I wouldn't see it later.

Also might be a small crack in the intake plenum ("log.") For some reason, the PO of my coupe had to have the log re-welded and it wasn't done correctly. There is a tiny hole in the weld which allows a small amount gas to drip on the lower manifold when the cold-start injector operates....
