Hi guys, i did a good bit of searching and googling but to no avail so here goes. The cold start valve is not working on the car. If i put 12 vots to it it clicks and petrol dribbles out on a bench. On the car no sign of petrol and there is good pressure in the line.

I swapped with another CSV that is good and same thing. So i went after the thermotime sensor and the cold start relay - I swapped both of these for good or at least Im 90% sure good units - still no petrol spray :-(.

I tested the continuity between the CSV and the relay and it is good and the earths seem to be good too.

I also cleaned the ECU connector under the rear seat.

Any suggestions now?

It is 10-20 degrees celcius here and i understand it should work below 35c?

Any help would be great so i can cross another thing off of a very long list!

Regards,

Rohan

So I jumped relay pin 30 (power) and output to csv (87) and it sprays great. I think when I said above I checked the thermotime I forgot to ground the test (presumed good) switch. Will do that now.

Still stumped. Tried three relays, one new so ruling that out. Csv sprays fine when relay jumped so it must be the thermostat switch not telling it to send power? The connection between thermo time and relay are good.

I had the same issue. It turned out tto be a wiring error where the fuel injection harness joins the main wiring loom at the plastic connector. My white wires were the wrong way around.

Here's an image of how they should be - maybe worth taking a look at ?

Hey Christopher, the wires have the right number on them going to the thermotime and they match up with the relay plug. no one has touched the order of the wires at the main connector so i doubt i have an issue there. it seems like it must be the thermotime circuit but when I swap in a good unit it does the same thing.

It looks like my wiring that involves pin 86 c is all over the shop - i had issues here before when cleaning up around the starter so will have to trace all of these back now. There is one connection with two white wires and a red on one connection connected to nothing. I also have a red wire loose - I think this is the issue. Will post pics!

169 is cold start relay
160 is temp switch
159 is injector

So previously i had the black wires coming from the ignition going to the starter at pin 50 - now i have swapped that for a red wire and the black wire joined to the plug that was unconnected. The plug has a red wire and two white wires and per the diagram is the connection point that 86 c goes to and this has continuity with the relay. The red wire going to the starter is the red wire in the connector so this is how the ignition is getting to the solenoid. I guess my thermotime switches muct be bad?

Well guys sorry for the load of posts but it is solved - the wiring change was it and i had forgotten to reinstall the relay above! Thanks for all the help.
