Complete motor with all electronics. This motor came out of a nicely restored 1985 Euro M535i that got bumped enough to be totalled. It had an extensive amount of work done in 2000 during the car's restoration. I have a stack of receipts and pictures during the engine's build.

Please see the attached photos.

Price: $2200.00

Any chance you could define "extensive amount of work"?

Thanks!

Sorry- I'm located in West Linn, OR (just south of Portland)

I bought this motor to put in my coupe, but the purchase of the M5 and other reasons (time and money) have put that project on hold for at least another year. My wife really wants me to get it out of the garage.

I have never been able to get a complete discription the work done (full rebuild, just the top end,??) on the motor in 2000 but based on the attached photos and the receipts that came with it, it definitely got some attention.

I have the name of the person that owned the car at that time. It sounds like he was pretty active in the Bay Area BMW CCA, maybe he still is. I just have never been able to track him down.

If interested, let me know.

Thanks-

Vince- you have people interested....

The problem seems to be that 1st you say:

"It had an extensive amount of work done in 2000 during the car's restoration. I have a stack of receipts and pictures during the engine's build."

Now you are saying "based on the attached photos and the receipts that came with it, it definitely got some attention."

Is there any chance you could check those receipts and clearly state what money was spent and what work was done? The receipts usually detail the parts and labor.

A fresh head gasket set is 110 bucks but the machine shop and parts for a fresh bottom end is 1100 bucks.

Thanks!

Sfdon,

Ok, today I attached the photos of the engine build that I received when I bought the motor. I was hoping that would that would show the work done was 'extensive' and most likely expensive. I did state that I don't know the extent of the work performed. I did try to track the owner down who did the restoration, I have his name but have not been able to contact him. Heck, you might know him.

I have a lot of receipts, I don't know if I'm going to have time this week to find the kind of detail you would need to completely solve the mystery.

Thanks-

Your asking price seems reasonable if you can locate the proper reciepts to prove a full rebuild or something close to it or else what you have is a $500 used motor.
