Congratulations to Chris for taking home a very well deserved 1st. Place at the Huntington Beach Concours and for representing us at this great event!!! His beautiful Coupe duked it out with some very fine German machinery including a Concours winning 1600, 930 Porsche Turbo, 2 freshly restored Isseta’s, and several other post war Autobahn warriors!

Thanks for being such a great E9 embassador.
I have been to so many events where obvious winners were awarded instead of the most interesting cars.
Obviously it is really subjective.

I have just seen in a german magazine: oldtimer magazine june 2012 that in germany BMW oldtimers are in 6th position in volume (with 8303 cars from 231064 cars total oldtimer market )
behind mercedes, vw, opel, ford and porsche. Oldtimers are 0,5% of the total car market in germany.

Very nice Chris! I helped my wife pick a car at a HAN event I know how difficult it is to pick one as a Judge and yours must be Very Nice and congrats!
 
having seen Chris' coupe up close ... its a very deserving win. the best part about it is that he DRIVES it. many congrats Chris!
 
Have seen the Malaga coupe and Chris on previous trips to Monterey for Pebble Beach. Both are impressive and deserve each other.

Thanks for your help beyond any "call of duty" and by carrying the E-9 torch so high.

E-9's win again--your deserved 1st place win in class this year has repeated a similar 1st place at the HB Concours in 2011 that BLUMAX had received in their Preservation Class.

BTW--I have conceded that 2nd place is now a good result whenever BLUMAX is being judged against Chris's meticulously restored Malaga Coupe.

You have always been and will continue to be, along with the BLUMAX, held in the highest regard by your friends here in the e9coupe community and elsewhere. You have been an inspiration to many and your guidance and contributions are greatly appreciated by all. It is always a pleasure displaying our coupes side by side and regardless of awards you will always receive the most attention and conversation from admiring participants and spectators. Thank you for your help and friendship, your legacy will never be surpassed.

+1 Chris & Murray - class guys w/ great cars. everyone should make a pilgrimage to Costa Mesa / Huntington Beach and meet these guys and their coupes. your lives will be enriched for the experience.

Totally agree, these two gentlement are indeed stewards of the coupes and great guys with indepth knowledge, and also want to share it!!! Congrats to both

Vintage cars, and vintage people; only get better with time. You two are the kind of folks the rest of us aspire to. Thanks for all that you do.
