Sorry to junk up the site with really stupid questions but does anyone know what color the screws that hold together the console are? I mean the phillips head screws that hold the A/C face plate/radio housing and the ones that hold the wood pieces to the bracket? There is a screw and a little trim ring and since the console covering is black I thought these screws and rings would be black as well but lots of cars show them as silver. I figure it can't be that hard to dab them with black once they are installed if they are supposed to be?

Thanks

i do not know the answer, but if you want them in black, there are painted ones, the usual problem is that as soon as you tighten them you might damage the paint and they will show silver areas

a solid and perdurable alternative is to chrome them in black, no damage

are they metric bolts or sheet metal screws ?

Thanks guys, they are sheet metal screws and maybe I'll throw them in the fireplace, that should take the shine off of them :)

Available from the dealer (just bought a bunch), but you probably know that.

Thanks de Q, I got some stainless and after everything is tight I think I will just dab them with some semi-gloss black. Question though- since you seem to have experimented with the consoles to such a high degree, I have this Becker Mexico and there are a couple connections I'm wondering about, maybe you can help? Do you know how this thing connects? and where the power antenna connects as well?

I'm an electrical numbskull!
