Convert stud to bolt spacers

I need to add 40mm spacers and am not finding any spacers that are stud based. I do find 40mm spacers that are based on bolts. I want to know if I can use these bolt spacers to convert from stud to bolts.
 
I put spacers on my CS. To answer your question yes you can use this type of spacer. You may need to cut your existing studs down if they protrude beyond the face of the spacer. Once the spacer is on and the studs don't stick out you have two options, you can either use bolts to fasten the wheels on like all modern BMW's or you can buy a screw in stud conversion kit which is designed to replace bolts with studs .

I just test fit my 20mm spacers with 50mm studs on my E3. That would put 40mm spacers on 70mm studs. If you can figure out how to use stud plates with no modifications to the existing studs that would be convenient. 8-)
 
40mm spacers?

Why not just get wheels that fit w/o such huge spacers?

Putting on modern super positive offset wheels?
