Coolant leak

They are a b**** to remove on that side. You will need to remove exhaust manifold, use a punch and tap in one side or if you can make a hole in it try to pry it out. I used a long bolt with a washer that I forced into the hole in the plug, then put a very large socket over it with a fender washer and two nuts locked against each other. Use a wrench on lower nut to retract. They can't fall into block so don't worry. Install with another large socket to tap flush with block.

Well,
I got the sucker out...I wouldn't wish this job on my worst enemy. I was thinking I might put a block heater in this hole. Not an issue for you surfer dudes, yet up here it may be an idea and simplify the repair.
Update...yes. I have ordered a heater that goes into the #2 right hole, 4 'o'clock position. 44 mm. Perfect as this is my bad hole. Used the 635 spec as reference, no books list the E9, but same same. Run into this a lot.
Not sure who posted...yes some frost here. We live between two mountain ranges, yet Comox is protected for the most part. Best skiing on the planet not 40 minutes from the house. We do not get the bitter cold as in some provinces, a banana belt. Best place on the planet and I have travelled the world. 20% increase in home values over the last year.
Word is that we will have commuter flights to Seattle this coming year. B.C. stands for "bring cash" Major credit cards accepted.
