copart 2800CS

Is in better shape and has a lot more going for it than many cars that appear on CL, etc,
Hopefully someone from here can get it from there. Can someone follow the auction?

+1, the front seats actually look pretty good

What? half of the $9,442 USD repair estimate is redoing the interior in anything but red.

Sorry Stan, no season or festivity mellows my spleen...

Happy Holidays!

I love silver/white on red leather. As long as the carpet and dash aren't red (although there is a nice example in the restoration forum).

The Copart site says it is sold on a "CA Salvage Certificate". I know that converting that to a title varies from state to state and in some cases is next to impossible. I have an E30 M3 shell that was purchased from IAAI on a WA Bill of Sale. The DOL tells me I can't get a title for it and in fact the metal salvage yard won't even let me scrap it (which I would never do) without a title. My point is, depending on what you want to do with this, do some homework before you bid.

2800 cs

Do they mean deep sea salvage? Is it me or does the car look like its been under water or pulled from a lake?

I've dealt with the CA salvage title issues directly with the CA DMV...
There are two types of salvage titles if I remember correctly...
The type that are no longer able to be titled in CA are permanent "junked" status.
The other kind is available for title in California.
I have used title companies in the past to obtain a title with success. They may be able to trace a title to another state. $$
However, do your research on this one!

Ooops - missed it by a day. This vehicle resurfaced. Looks like it sold yesterday. Who knows - Perhaps it didn't sell again. The link is pretty U informative. I can post the pictures if anyone wants to see what they missed.

I'm not sure if any one wants to update the registry. The VIN is 227042. It is one of the first 50 USA 2800CS's.
