copper sealing washers

About to bolt up the new water pump, examined bolts and washers that came off, the washers are called "copper sealing washers" in the Haynes manual, and suggest they be renewed. OK, some are actually looking a little worse for wear, cannot cost much, good idea. Today, local dealer parts dept says p/n 07119932072 is NLA. So 2 questions, what do you do, and then, which way around does the washer go when installed on the bolt, I mean there is a "wave" shape to it and I did not record this as I was still in the euphoric state of mind you get to when really old and important bolts actually release and do not snap.

Or a good hardware store with metric sizes.
Not all HD are the same.
