I'm trying to locate a suitable vinyl dye color to touch up the rear headrest in our Bavaria. The interior is the Saddle color used in 1972.

Has anyone found a good match off the shelf and if not have you had it custom made? Any assistance would be appreciated.

John, I actually used the chain business Dr. Vinyl. They are really independent individuals who pay for the name. My guy was a solo operation and had been doing it for about 12 years. He mixed the color on site and by eye, did some test applications and nailed it (saddle also)then sprayed my seats and gave me the remainder of the dye. I went to him but they will come to you ( had everything in a small truck). 75 bucks.

Leatherique made a bottle of dye that matched my leather perfectly, I sent a swatch. I think they do vinyl too??

Thanks very much for this info and I'll check into it.

Today I went to my local Hobby Shop with a piece of the driver's door arm rest (the item with the chrome insert) to try and match the saddle color. The replacement piece is black.

After searching a bit I found a color that looked very close. Made the purchase and today after work I painted the piece and just reinstalled it and it came out near perfect. This project only cost me a couple of bucks and the results are rewarding.
