Correct Diff mounting to chassis

Hi everyone,

Getting close to the reassembly stage of a car that was purchased in disassembled state.

Am a little stumped as to how the diff mount goes together. The mount has a silver side and a gold side. It would appear that the gold side would go up into the chassis, leaving the sliver side down which has the thread available for the M12 bolt to screw into.

However the gold side is a better fit to the diff given the shape of the mount. Problem is that the hole in the gold side is too small for the M12 bolt to be able to pass through to the thread on the silver side.

The silver, threaded part should be upper, the gold side to the diff casing. I got a Meyle one years ago vague recollection of having to drill out the bolt hole. When installing, the threaded tube broke away from the lower plate so couldn't torque it up.

Hi there
The gold side touches the diff.
I fitted a new one earlier this year , but before I did , I had to drill out that hole to take the long bolt in the middle
It was about 0.2mm undersized.

Thank you both, it seems a little odd that WN would supply this part that requires modification before using it.

Thanks for your replies.

Mine was bought from walloth and nesch also.
I think the way it is manufactured causes the tube bore to be slightly crimped and that causes the problem , once you get that corrected , it will work fine.
Try and do it on the bench beforehand so that you don’t end up trying to balance a heavy diff on a trolley jack or something ( don’t ask me how I know about that :) )
