I'm trying to get my rear lic plate lights on the rear bumber working. Right now I see no wires for them at all. I can see by the wiring diagram (Thanks Shanon) that they share the same circut as the sidemarkers.

So it looks like I will have to run new wire to them. So my question is where do they exit the trunk to the lights?

Steve,
There is a hole in the rear panel where a single wire goes through. it then splits into 2 paralel connections, one for each number plate light. The earth, or ground, is via the bumper itself. However you could always run another grounding wire if required.
As a pictures says a thousand words here is the hole from both sides! yeap, nipped out into the shed to take them - sad or what!
Should give you an idea where it is. As arrowed and circled!
Cheers

Be sure to put a rubber gromet in the hole to protect the wire if there isn't one there all ready. While you are at it you should take the lights apart and clean the ground contacts real well; they are grounded with one of the screws that hold the lights to the bumpber.
