I would like to find out more about my coupe #4310174 Colour code 09? I am having trouble navigating to the proper sites for info.
Thanks

Yes

Trouble being that last year when I dismantled the roof the paint looks like Malaga under the rails (see my last pic in the sunroof felt question) Was my car rolled at some point and a different roof welded on? I can see no evidence of this. Sticker says "Sienabraun-metalic"
Paint code on the Karman plate says "09" I would love to know the full story.

..perhaps a PO swapped roofs to get the sunroof? I am not sure if the VIN guy in Germany can tell if it originally had a sunroof ([email protected])?

Mystery coloured roof

Al:

In areas of high humidity and salt, rust takes on a distinct Burgundy colour. Better move to some place drier.

Al,

Did your car come with black headliner when you bought it? The malaga under sienna reminded me of a car I saw some time back...

Pamp,

Looking at your pic of your coupe, the sunroof does appear much bigger than the standard roof opening. Pretty sure it's a aftermarket sunroof. Do you have an interior shot of the headliner?

Crap

All interior bits were "sand" colour. Head liner was changed during the sun roof / interior restoration.(sand when I bought it and for sure in poor condition indicating old) During the body restoration I looked at all welds closely looking for evidence of a roll over. All looks to me to be factory. Maybe a Karman guy screwed up and started with the wrong colour...could happen. Interior of the roof was obviously original "Siena" F...ing weird! And no...for sure a Golde roof.

Siena

Info back fro Mr. Harz...
The BMW 3.0 CS US VIN 4310174 was manufactured on April 1st, 1974 and delivered on April 24th, 1974 to the BMW importer Hoffman Motors Corp. in New York City. The original colour was Siena Brown metallic, paint code 009.
What I need to know now is to make sure this was an original sunroof coupe. If this roof was changed then whoever did this was a real pro. All seams looked to me as original when I had gutted my interior. As I had concerns about this, I inspected closely, as well as using a magnet at any points that may have been repaired. I only know one guy, (who works out of his shop in Oregon. He is Ferrari, Porsche and Roll- Royce certified) who can fool me in regard to cars previously wrecked.
