If there are objections, please let me know, else I would like to share a couple of my fondest coupe stories with you.
This is a two part story taken place some years ago. ( if anyone has more information about this car, please post --European brethren?)
It begins on a mild day in Munich and I have just finished touring the 'old' BMW museum. As I leave the courtyard, I notice a glass garage with its lights on and I walk towards it for a closer view. I inch closer and suddenly notice an 'Inka' CSL appearing right before my eyes!
Its front-end is facing directly outwards at me through the glass garage and its sitting high up on jack-stands. The paint is superb, and most of the trim has already found its way onto the car.
There are two technicians working around the car and they are trying very hard to pretend I do not exist....I begin waiving my arms up and down several times to get their attention.....finally the door opens.
It was like entering the holy grail. That 'new' car smell engulfed the room and the 30+ year old CSL was lit up like a football field at the center. The BMW four cylinder 'towers' are just behind my shoulders...keeping a watchful eye on this resurrection. All is well, as I add my own set of watchful eyes to the project.
A middle aged German man approaches me and we end up meeting right at the drivers door....He had a mustache and glasses....what had I got myself into....?
More in part 2 of the story.
Cheers
MF
