Coupe Wrapped Around an e39

Uber engine

Concept has been mentioned a few times in the past- Easier to wrap classic skin around another platform, than trying to shoe-horn big muscle into the existing chassis.
Wow!

I agree, an homage to the E9 interior would have been more to my liking and i would have kept the C pillar cloisonne roundels, but overall, well executed

rebadged

they had to remove all the bmw badges (c pillar, trunk, hood, etc)to get it registered in germany. i really like this car, and was even thinking about buying it, till found out they wanted $250k!

Why $250k?

So what makes this a $250k car?

e9 donor in decent shape $10k
e39 donor w/ decent engine and dash $15k (if salvage then much less)
parts and fabrication $50k
labor (2000 hrs @ $75) $150k

I am just guessing here. Anyone have better numbers?

I'm obviously all in favor of folks doing what they want, but the proportions look off to me, and I agree that part of the joy of the car (to me at least) is the period interior.

That said, maybe in person the car doesn't look overly tall, that might just be the photos.
