Here is the 2800 nearing finish.
Next the interior, from World. First, the funny thing was they kept saying the early (69) should have the basket weave, but we convinced them into doing Herringbone. Next, they sent the fronts in Herringbone, but rears in solid, and again they keep saying thats the way it should be. Now, the poor guy has to buy the rears done in Herringbone!

The most famous iranian "coupe" if you want to call it a coupe was in 1979 when Ruholla Musavi Khomeini deposed the liberal Shah(put in power by the CIA), He imposed a theoracy, see Shia Law, took Iran back to the Dark Ages, and held those Americans hostage. Part of the reason Ronald R. was elected, especially after the failed desert rescue mission by hte Carter administration. See the movie:
"Argo"

I'm a fan of banter, but let's bring this back to talking to cars Steve. Not really fair on Merdad to turn this into a political thread.

Thank you all. On that subject we are all suffering with no ends to it.
But, what do you all think of the seat patterns and what World is insisting?
Did early coupes have basketweave?
Did early coupes have different front and rear seat pattern?
Should World be educated on that subject ?

I am no expert, I just know that I have never even seen the basket weave being used in the seat portion. In my knowledge (brain), I only have images of the basket weave only applied on doorpanels.

Love that color! How easy is it to get parts imported?

Thanks. I usually bring parts back in my suitcase, of course smaller parts.
There are a few guys here that can take your order and bring them through Dubai or Turkey. Becomes very expensive, but no choice sometimes.

Hello to all of you, I am glad to see in my home town has many coup, when I was there in 1977 I had a blue E9 automatic I have been told by BMW dealer it is only 9 of this E9 fined there way to Iran, since who I buy the car from it was the armenian guy who owns the dealer ship in Pahlavi street, I don't know how many they bring in after that, I pay 80,000 at the time, back then my father buy a house for his sister for 250,000 with that comparison 80,000 was lots of money, but it was worth it, that car was one of a kind at the time any where I stop many people was around a car back then was to many 2002 around but not many E9, I really miss my home town I want to see one more time where I born, god bless all of you guys who work on this beautiful E9

The black herringbone pattern looks nice and the rear seats should be the same. The pics show the Turkis metallic "flop". It is green in the sun and blue in the shade.
BMW offered that color in 1973 for all models. The interior was either black or a combo of grey cloth& black. The carpet and door panels were black.
When the car is Turkis, almost no one will notice the color or pattern of the interior. Or the engine. Or the wheels. They just will look at that color and ask about the paint.
