Logical consequence of this ruling: a plaintiff impregnated at a Hampton Inn suing the Hilton Corp for parental support.

To be clear though, while the original judgment is ridiculous, it appears that the appeals court judge upheld it not because it was reasonable, but because Geico failed to defend itself in the first place. Interesting to see what happens in federal court.
